Childrens Dentistry

Childrens Dentistry in Staines

Taking care of little smiles

You can rely on Thorpe Lea Dental to provide safe, effective dental care for your children in Staines.

Children are born free from dental disease, yet by adulthood, 95% of the population has active gum disease, and most people have experienced some tooth decay and even tooth loss.

We believe effective dental care starts early, so we encourage families to bring children in as soon as their first tooth appears and return for regular check-ups to help maintain long-term dental health. Because of this, we offer free dental exams for children up to and including the age of 10 when a parent joins one of our Membership plans.

By teaching children thorough brushing techniques and great oral health habits from a young age, they’ll take these skills into adulthood. We can also help to retrain parents to allow them to lead by example when brushing and flossing at home.

Your child’s dental appointment

At Thorpe Lea Dental, we appreciate that many children find the dentist a daunting place, so we do everything we can to make your child’s experience with us a good one.

Our practice is modern and welcoming, and you’ll be greeted by one of our kind and genuine staff members before the appointment. You can rest assured that your child is in safe hands with our skilled nurses and dentists, who know exactly how to deal with young patients.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should my child have their first dental visit?

Your child’s first dental visit should be by their first birthday or when their first tooth comes in. Early visits help ensure their teeth and gums are developing properly.

How can I help my child maintain good oral hygiene?

Encourage your child to brush their teeth twice daily with a fluoride toothpaste, floss once a day, and eat a balanced diet. Regular check-ups with the dentist also play a vital role in maintaining oral health.

Are baby teeth really that important?

Yes, baby teeth are essential for proper chewing, speech development, and holding space for permanent teeth. Taking care of baby teeth sets the foundation for lifelong oral health.
