Introduction
This is the Cookie Policy for Thorpe Lea Dental, accessible from thorpeleadental.com
What are cookies?
As is common practice with almost all professional websites, this site uses cookies, which are tiny files that are downloaded to your computer, to improve your experience. This page describes what information they gather, how we use it, and why we sometimes need to store these cookies. We will also share how you can prevent these cookies from being stored; however, this may downgrade or ‘break’ certain elements of the site’s functionality.
For more general information on cookies, please read what are cookies.
How we use cookies
We use cookies for a variety of reasons detailed below. Unfortunately, in most cases, there are no industry-standard options for disabling cookies without completely disabling the functionality and features they add to this site. It is recommended that you leave on all cookies if you are not sure whether you need them or not in case they are used to provide a service that you use.
Disabling cookies
You can prevent the setting of cookies by adjusting the settings on your browser (see your browser Help for how to do this). Be aware that disabling cookies will affect the functionality of this and many other websites that you visit. Disabling cookies will usually result in also disabling certain functionality and features of this site. Therefore, it is recommended that you do not disable cookies.
The cookies we set
Strictly necessary
These are needed for the site to work and don't track you.
- Enquiry details: if you arrived from one of our adverts, the advert's campaign details are kept in your browser for that visit only, so we can see which advert brought your enquiry. They're cleared when you close the tab.
Analytics cookies
- Google Analytics (
_ga,_ga_*): help us understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and how people find us, so we can improve it. It doesn't tell us who you are. See how Google uses this information.
Marketing cookies
- Google Ads (
_gcl_au,_gcl_aw): tell us when someone who clicked one of our Google adverts goes on to call us or send an enquiry, so we can measure whether our adverts work. See Google's advertising policies.
You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings (see "Disabling cookies" above), or opt out of Google Analytics with Google's opt-out add-on.
Google Maps
The map on our contact page loads from Google only when you choose to show it, and Google may then set its own cookies. You can use the Open in Google Maps link instead.
Final notes
Hopefully, this has clarified things for you. As mentioned earlier, if there is something you are unsure about, it is usually safer to leave cookies enabled in case they interact with one of the features you use on our site.
